Dekalb Coaching Staff

Melanie Burrows, Director of Tennis at DeKalb Tennis Center, is originally from Cambridge England.  She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation.  Melanie played both #1 singles and doubles at Chattanooga (Southern Conference Champions 1985 and 1986).  She received the Outstanding Senior Award and the Academic All American Collegiate Award.  Melanie is USPTA certified and has a USPTA Specialty Course Certification for 10 and Under Tennis.  She has been actively involved in local tennis for 25 years as a player and coach and is a member of the Prince Advisory Staff.

 

Emory Hiller is a native Atlantan.  He was a competitive junior player who, while in high school, started working at a local tennis center as an assistant teaching pro.  Emory attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where he taught at a local country club.  He is PTR and USPTA certified and has a USPTA Specialty Course Certification for 10 and Under Tennis.

 

Kathryn Carroll attended Birmingham-Southern College playing three years at #1 singles and four years at #1 doubles.  She was team captain, Most Valuable Player, and most inspirational senior athlete during her time at the college.  Kathryn received a biology degree and is currently continuing her education at the Emory School of Nursing.  She has remained in tennis as a teaching pro in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi and in Atlanta at DeKalb Tennis Center.
